First post, new blog

Well, here is my new blog. My other blog sorta petered out like the few before that. So, I am gonna try again. This will mostly focus on my favorite hobby, Warhammer 40K. I have been playing since the end of 2nd edition, so about 12 years or so. I have decided to name my blog "Ooh Squirrel" base on the Disney/Pixar movie Up. The dogs in the movie would get distracted by squirrels. I seem to have the same problem but with new armies (plastic crack, whatever).

So, this will be my new blog dedicated to all the various projects that I am working on:
1) Deathwing - almost done......mostly repainted and inked. Need to redo the dreads, drop pods and add another squad or 2 of termies (I learned a lesson from the Iron Man tournament. You need to be aggressive with the deepstriking termies. They can take a pounding and do well in close combat, but they need to get there quickly). I don't actually have pictures, so I should probably take them sometime. Also, I want to redo my Belial model. Found some inspiration online.

2) Ravenwing - have 1-6 man squad, attack bike and 2 speeders done. Have about 25 more bikes that need to be reprimed and painted. I will probably not use these are Ravenwing, since the rules for regular space marines w/ a bike captain are probably better. Again, no pictures.

3) Iron warriors - I actually have a 1850 pt list w/ all the models laid out. About 1/2 are painted and based, the rest are in various conditions, mostly partially painted. Need to paint the 2 rhinos, drop the defiler, add 3 more oblits or more termies......not sure which. Will add a daemon prince to get up to 2000 pts. No pictures of these either.

4) Vostroyan guard - I probably have 2000+ points all painted, just need to finish basing them. They are an all veteran army so I can upgrade them to carapace armor. I have never actually fielded them in a game and am looking forward to using them. I have 2 more chimeras that are partially painted and need to be finished up, plus a bunch more guardsmen sitting around and some converted rough riders. I actually have pictures:

As you can see the bases are just black right now....I tried drybrushing and inking a few. They turned out ok. I am thinking about adding snow to the bases also.
